CWS Impact Garage Doors: The Coral Springs Owner’s Guide

We stock and install CWS-compatible impact garage doors and replacement parts across Coral Springs, with most complete door replacements running between $3,200 and $6,800 installed depending on size, track configuration, and which CWS series you own. If the part you need is on our shelf, we can usually have a technician at your home within one to two business days. Most Coral Springs owners discover a problem the same way: the door starts binding on one side, the springs sound like they’re working harder than they used to, or the bottom seal has peeled away enough that afternoon storm water pools across the threshold. By the time you notice any of those, the part that caused them has usually been failing for months.

We’re an independent service and installation company, not affiliated with CWS. That matters because it means we match your existing hardware honestly: OEM when the door is still under warranty, a quality equivalent when it no longer makes sense to pay the nameplate markup.

Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS impact garage doors have shipped through several series lines over the years, and parts do not always cross between them cleanly. The heavy-gauge models most common in Coral Springs are the CWS 9500 and 9800 series, both built around a 2-inch-thick door section with a galvanized steel core and continuous end stiles. The older 8000 series doors are lighter at 1-3/8 inches, and their rollers, hinges, and brackets will not interchange with the 9500 or 9800 hardware. If you are not sure which door you have, look at the edge of a door section with the door halfway up: the series number is stamped on a small aluminum tag near the bottom bracket on the left side, or printed on the inside of the top section. No tag? Send us a photo of the hinge pattern and we will identify it from that.

For CWS doors still inside their original warranty window, OEM parts are the right call: the manufacturer’s coverage depends on matched components, and we register the paperwork so that coverage stays intact. Past the warranty period, a quality aftermarket roller or hinge often outperforms the original at a lower price. We carry both for the 9500 and 9800 series and will quote them side by side on paper so you’re never choosing blind.

Signs Your CWS Impact Garage Doors Is Failing

  • The door shudders halfway up and the rollers chirp. That chatter is almost always a roller bearing that has lost its grease or a hinge that has wallowed out at the pivot. CWS roller stems are 7/16 inch on most Coral Springs installations, and a worn roller puts sideload on the hinge that spreads the failure to the track itself.
  • The door hangs down on one side when open. This points to a stretched or broken torsion spring. CWS doors in South Florida are spec’d for a 10,000-cycle spring set, but salt air and humidity in Coral Springs routinely cut that lifespan by a third, and a broken spring will not center itself.
  • The bottom seal leaves a daylight gap at one corner. Concrete slabs in Coral Springs settle, and the oversized aluminum retainer CWS uses holds its shape but not its seal. A gap here lets in water, palmetto bugs, and hot July air, and it bends the bottom panel over time.
  • The door tracks flex visibly at the midpoint bracket. Impact-rated doors are heavier than standard panels, and the factory bracket spacing on some 9500 installs was too wide for the load. We add a midspan bracket on nearly half the CWS doors we service in Coral Springs.
  • The opener struggles and the door creeps downward after stopping. That is the counterbalance system failing, not the opener motor. A CWS door that will not hold position at mid-travel is unsafe to leave as is.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Coral Springs, you can expect these installed price ranges for common CWS repairs:

  • Torsion spring replacement (pair): $285 to $420
  • Roller and hinge replacement (all wheels, 12 hinges): $220 to $350
  • Bottom seal and retainer replacement: $180 to $260
  • Complete door replacement, single-car CWS 9500: $3,200 to $4,500
  • Complete door replacement, double-car CWS 9800: $4,800 to $6,800

The range depends on door size, spring wire diameter, whether your track is standard or high-lift, and whether the door is still crash-rated and needs impact certification documented. Every quote we write is a fixed price with the parts and labor separated on the line item. When we replace springs, you get both springs, not just the broken one: a mismatched pair means the new spring carries the load alone and fails early. Our workmanship is guaranteed for 90 days under the Done Right Promise, and both manufacturer warranty layers are registered in writing before our truck leaves your driveway.

DIY or Call Us?

There are things you can safely check. With the door closed, run a flashlight along the bottom seal and look for daylight. Tug gently on each roller to feel for play in the bearing. Watch the door through a full cycle and note which panel buckles first. Those observations help us diagnose faster and they will not hurt you.

What you should not touch is the torsion spring assembly. A CWS impact door carries enough stored tension to remove fingers or worse if a winding bar slips. The springs, cables, and bottom brackets are under load even when the door is fully open, and the safest thing you can do with a broken spring is close the door if it’s already down and call us. Dale Kessler will tell you the same thing he tells every Coral Springs homeowner who asks: this is the one part of the job where the sweat equity is not worth the risk. Call (727) 261-2215 and we’ll schedule a technician.

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."
